Some weeks ago we launched a poll to see where the offgolf community would like to see the EUGC'17 take place.
134 people responded to this poll which indicates that the results are a good representation of our worldwide family.
Switzerland came in 1st with 18.7%, which is not surprising considering it has been one of the pillars of offgolf, active since the early 2000's.
2nd is Czech Republic with 17.9%, then Hungary in 3rd with 14.2% of the total votes. While both countries are relative newbies to the offgolf world, their growing communities have shown great motivation and enthusiasm. We best keep an eye on those guys!
Why the sausage fest?
Our poll indicates that there are far too few women playing offgolf.
Why is this the case? Any advice, ladies?
Could it be because Golf has a bad rep? According to an article on Channel Signal, there were 25 golf clubs in the USA that limited memberships to men only in 2012. The most well-known being Augusta in Georgia!
FUCK, "Gentlemen Only, Ladies Forbidden"!
While the proportion of women offgolf players is higher than the reported 19% playing classic golf, there's clearly a lot of room for improvement. We'd like to lead classic golf in the right direction with a good offgolf example. It's obvious that if we want to grow the game we need to make it more attractive for ladies.
